mount --bind /var/www /mnt/site

Category: Administration

mount --bind /var/www /mnt/site

Mount a directory at another location

Makes the directory /var/www also appear at /mnt/site without copying anything, so both paths reference the same files. Bind mounts are handy for chroots, containers, and rearranging layouts. Use umount /mnt/site to remove the extra view, and --rbind to include sub-mounts.
