unattended-upgrade (singular binary) applies the security and allowed-origin updates configured in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades right now, outside its normal nightly schedule. It resolves dependencies and handles dpkg config-file prompts automatically. Output lands in /var/log/unattended-upgrades/unattended-upgrades.log.
