sudo systemctl status myapp --no-pager -l

Shows the unit's current state, uptime, and recent log output; -l disables line truncation and --no-pager prints directly — both matter when debugging a crash over SSH. 'Active: active (running)' plus a recent Main PID is the healthy signature. This is the first stop after every deploy.
