Set Gemini 3.1 Pro as the default model in settings.json
The Gemini CLI settings.json file (in ~/.gemini/ or the project root) persists preferences across sessions. As of April 2026, valid model IDs include: gemini-3.1-pro-preview (flagship), gemini-3-flash-preview (fast/cheap), gemini-2.5-pro (stable GA, retires June 17, 2026), and gemini-2.5-flash (retires June 17, 2026).
