ip maddr show

List multicast addresses joined on all interfaces

Multicast addressing lets one packet reach many hosts, and this command shows every multicast group the kernel has joined per interface. The 01:00:5e prefix marks IPv4 multicast MACs, with 33:33 used for IPv6. It is useful when debugging mDNS or streaming protocols that rely on multicast.
