apache2ctl restart

Restart Apache, dropping active connections

Stops and starts Apache, which briefly closes all open connections, so in-flight requests are interrupted. Use apache2ctl graceful for a zero-downtime config reload. Run apache2ctl -t first to catch syntax errors before the restart.
